The Case for Libertarians

I suppose that if I were forced to identify myself with a political ideology, it would be Libertarian.  One of the basic tenets of libertarianism is that if the government were a person, it would be a teenager with frontal lobe dysfunction.  The Constitution is a government limiting document.  The founders, all of whom had a profound view of historical context, clearly saw what teenagers were capable of wrecking and created a document that limited inevitable teen stupidity.  The teenager in Washington today is arrogant, selfish, self-aggrandizing, spoiled and in dire need of a good, hard spanking.  The problem is the we, the parents, are intimidated and indulging.

John Stossel is the political Dr. Phil, Dr. Laura or whatever.  His message is, “Your teenager is out of control.  If you don’t reign him in, you will be subsidizing him long into his 40s.”  Watch the following clips and see what you think.
